Privacy Policy

Who we are

This website represents the Mid Cornwall Branch and the West Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Branch of Parkinson’s UK.  We are bound by the Parkinson’s UK privacy policies.  We set out below the application of these policies to our Branches.

Your Rights

Your personal information is subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).  We are committed to the correct treatment of your information irrespective of your status as a Member, a Third Party supplier or a member of the general public.  Amongst other rights, you have the right to access the information we hold about you, and to have it changed, no longer be used, or erased.  We describe how to exercise this right at the end of this page.

The information we display

This website displays contact information of Branch Members who organise and offer friendship at meetings.  The information is held by us in member records that may include name, title, address, date of birth, age, gender, email address, telephone numbers, a personal description, and photographs. We disclose your contact information because you have previously given us consent to do so.

We display links to websites other than Parkinson’s UK. Other websites have their own privacy policies.  We do not accept any responsibility or liability for them, so please check their privacy policies before you submit any personal data.

The information we collect

The Contact Form is the only place on this website where personal data can be collected.  Your name and email address is required.  Additional personal data may be supplied at your discretion and depending upon the context of your message.  You may also give us your personal data by corresponding with us by phone, email or letter.

The information we hold

We use the information we collect to help us provide our services, promote the interests of the Charity, maintain our accounts and records, and to manage the content and effectiveness of the website.  Information we gather through the Contact Form and by other means is securely stored and managed to professional standards.
Website statistics may be retained in perpetuity.  Information about you as a Member is deleted on your departure from our relationship.  Information about you as a Third Party is retained as required by Charity legislation.  Contact form information may create or supplement a member or supplier record, or inform another purpose but is otherwise deleted after 6 months.  We do not sell or rent our information to anyone.

How to exercise your Rights

To exercise your right you will need to present a “Subject Access Request”. This can be done by you or someone on your behalf, in the first instance by notification of intent to assetadmin@parkinsonscornwall.com.

We are allowed up to one month to respond to a valid request.  You can then have us correct any information that we hold about you, stop using it or erase it.  We will do this straightaway unless we are prevented from doing so by law or a contract.

If you are dissatisfied with our response to your Subject Access Request or with the privacy policies set out here, you can email dataprotection@parkinsons.org.uk or write to the Data Protection Officer, Parkinson’s UK, 215 Vauxhall Bridge Road, London SW1V 1EJ.
